For the past few weeks I've been working on these vases pretty much around the clock. It's been a month since my little best friend, Cocopops, suddenly passed away, and these vases have unintentionally become a big part of my grieving process.
After a week of doing more than crying and sleeping, I realised I needed something creative to pour my energy into. I started painting these vases to take my mind off everything, and somewhere along the way they became more than just a project. They gave me something to focus on, a reason to get out of bed each day, and helped me slowly work through the grief.
I'm so grateful for art and the comfort it can bring when words aren't enough.
These ten one-of-a-kind ceramic vases are inspired by traditional tattoo flash and the nostalgic cartoons I grew up with. Each one is hand-painted with acrylic paint, sealed with a high-gloss finish for lasting protection, and waterproofed on the inside so they're ready to hold your favourite flowers.
